How Do We Do?
The SPOT communicates regularly its position to our server. This communication goes via the mobile phone network.
We use different radio wave based positioning technologies to decide its position.
On our server software its position is displayed with a precision of typically 100 to 500 meters. In the alert situation where your asset has been stolen or has disappeared, your 24-7-365 alarm provider, the police, or you yourself goes to find it with a small, handheld location device.
Experience so far shows re-finding times of ½ to 2 hours - with a success rate of 99%, provided that the device can get a mobile phone connection.
